Reduction of shrinkage by Superabsorbent polymers (SAP) in fibre reinforced mortars

نویسندگان

چکیده

Fibre reinforced mortars (FRM) containing fly ash (FA) and ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) may suffer from volumetric changes despite fibre reinforcement, internal curing be required. This paper evaluates the efficiency of Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP) in reduction shrinkage. Autogenous (AS), plastic (PS) drying (DS) shrinkage were analysed for FRM with three types cement (CEM I, CEM II/B-V III/A) SAPs (different water absorption capacities different particles sizes). The experimental results showed that SAP substantially contribute to total cementitious reduce susceptibility crack formation. Reduction autogenous is highly dependent on particle sizes. Finer lead better performances reductions reaching 75% PS 124% AS. shrinkage, although lower (up 12%), can achieved by application capacities. effect sizes less important

Superabsorbent Polymers and Superabsorbent Polymer Composites

This article briefly describes the general aspects and cross-linking polymerization of superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) and superabsorbent polymer composites (SAPCs). Research and development of SAPs has become very active after the Northern Region Laboratory of the United States Department of Agriculture invented the first SAP, used as a soil conditioner. Based on the advancements in organic/ino...

In-vitro MRI detectability of interbody test spacers made of carbon fibre-reinforced polymers, titanium and titanium-coated carbon fibre-reinforced polymers.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how different materials affect the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) detectability of interbody test spacers (ITS). We evaluated the post-implantation MRI scans with T1 TSE sequences for three different ITS made of titanium, carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP) and titanium-coated CFRP, respectively. The main target variables were total artefact vo...

Introduction of Fibre-Reinforced Polymers − Polymers and Composites: Concepts, Properties and Processes

Fibre-reinforced polymer(FRP), also Fibre-reinforced plastic, is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibres. The fibres are usually glass, carbon, or aramid, al‐ though other fibres such as paper or wood or asbestos have been sometimes used. The poly‐ mer is usually an epoxy, vinylester or polyester thermosetting plastic, and phenol formaldehyde resins are still in use...

Effect of Nano-CuO on Engineering and Microstructure Properties of Fibre-Reinforced Mortars Incorporating Metakaolin: Experimental and Numerical Studies

In this study, the effects of nano-CuO (NC) on engineering properties of fibre-reinforced mortars incorporating metakaolin (MK) were investigated. The effects of polypropylene fibre (PP) were also examined. A total of twenty-six mixtures were prepared. The experimental results were compared with numerical results obtained by adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and Primal Estimated sub...
